Learning languages
English and Italian
At The Little Traveller kindergarten, children not only perfect their native language but also learn to communicate in English and Italian. As learning languages at an early stage is most effective when done naturally, here at the Little Traveller children acquire communication skills in both languages in a natural way during educational classes, meals, trips and playtime.
Our custom curriculum for learning foreign languages is implemented through:
- daily classes with certified teachers in the morning and afternoon
- daily afternoon games with native speakers
- the use of popular phrases by the head teachers during everyday activities to consolidate newly learnt expressions
- preparation of the senior preschoolers to the Cambridge English Qualifications Young Learner English exam
- expanding knowledge of the Anglo-Saxon culture
- Participation in international projects, e.g. Say Hello to the World
- art events and initiatives: theatre, festivals, meetings with special guests from the creative industries
How do we teach languages at The Little Traveller
At our kindergarten, we use teaching methods that make the most of children’s natural curiosity and willingness to explore the surrounding world. Learning through playing is not great fun but it also encourages our children to use foreign languages freely and without inhibitions in an everyday setting.
Language immersion
diving deep into the language where teachers and native speakers talk to children only in a foreign language.
CLIL
content and language integrated learning during linguistic, mathematics, science, artistic, and sports classes.
CLT
